Arctic Expeditions

In 2011, she completed the unsupported "Arctic Trilogy," which involved skiing across the Greenland ice sheet, reaching the North Pole, and ascending Mount Denali in Alaska.

Photography and Conservation

Sember's experiences in the Arctic have fueled her passion for conservation and inspired her to use her photography to raise awareness about the impacts of climate change on the polar regions. Her stunning images of Arctic landscapes, wildlife, and melting glaciers have been featured in numerous exhibitions, publications, and documentaries.

She is a strong advocate for protecting the Arctic ecosystem and has spoken out about the urgent need for international cooperation to address climate change. Her work has been instrumental in raising awareness about the fragility of the Arctic and the importance of taking action to preserve its biodiversity.

Humanitarian Work

In addition to her exploration and photography, Sember is also a dedicated humanitarian. She has partnered with organizations such as the Arctic Access Program and the Polar Bears International to provide support to Arctic communities and promote education about the importance of the polar regions.

She has established the Brette Sember Foundation, which provides scholarships to students pursuing careers in Arctic science and exploration. She also works with youth organizations to inspire the next generation of explorers and conservationists.

Awards and Recognition

Sember's accomplishments and contributions to Arctic exploration and conservation have earned her numerous awards and recognitions. She has received the Lindbergh Award, the Explorers Club Medal, and the National Geographic Society's Woman Adventurer of the Year Award.

In 2018, she was named an Officer of the Order of Canada, one of the highest civilian honors bestowed by the Canadian government. She has also been inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame and the International Women's Forum Hall of Fame.
